Kumble, The Match Winner
It needed someone like him to break my blog-laziness ;)...not many players of this divine game can carry the "match winner" tag for such a long duration...in fact, calling someone so raises many eyebrows...."is sachin a match winner?" is one of the hottest topics of some endless discussions....but kumble's ability as a genuine match winner is beyond any debate...well someone might crop up the discussion about his fielding or performance outside india...blah blah blah...many would even go to the extent of saying that he can't even turn the ball...well who cares as long as it crashes into the stumps! I still remember his short stint in a test match when he bowled wearing a bandage!....now that says something about his dedication...with 460 wickets already under his belt he's destined to be remembered as one of the greatest bowlers of all times...hats off to him!

Well he is like wine... gets better with age. However I still wouldn't like to see him in one-day matches. But then, I dont like onedayers on the whole these days... pointless stuff like one dayers don't deserve craftsmen like him either.

Our belief that ODIs are in general worthless was confirmed by the ICC last week - while they have taken away the associate ODI-status (or some such technical term like that), they have extended it to Holland and Namibia !!!!! ROFL !!!! Good heavens !!
Records against Kenya in ODI matches will still continue to count even in the future (This is a bit confusing) but overall the message is ODIs have ver little "intrinsic value" - not used by me, Cricinfo altho I second it
